Season closes under blanket of snow

As we come to the end of April, Morzine has closed, we have had our last camp of the season and it won't stop snowing.

We would like to say a big thank you to the guys at Forum, Foursquare and Special Blend for thier support, to Mint Snowboard school and Mountain Mavericks, without whom we would not be able to make the camps as they are, and to all the girls who've made it such fun to do. See you next year.

Avoriaz opens and first play with the Stash

No less than 3 weeks early Avoriaz opened half of it's area. With access to the Arare, Lindarets and Plateau areas there was plenty to play on, including The Stash. Although not finished they have made good headway and it's looking like the final result will great fun to ride.

The snow was a little hard having had an afternoon of rain towards the end of the week, but it has settled down into a good base and theres more snow due at the end of this week.

Portes Du Soleil opens early

Due to the amount of snow that has fallen over the last week and consisitent low temperatures, a number of resorts in the portes Du soleil are opening their lifts this weekend. Avoriaz is opening fully next weekend (24th Nov) almost a month earlier than planned. But I couldn't wait even till tomorrow as conditions were looking that good so hiked the Arare (peak dirctly above Avoriaz town) and rode freshies all the way to the bottom of Prodains. First turns of the season and a great reminder about how happy snowboarding can make you feel. Check photos, will be heading to Les Gets tomorrow so watch this space for more pics of how it's looking.
